There are no magic formulas to dating. However, there are certain things that can be done to make dating successful and enjoyable. For a couple to enjoy each other’s company, there are a number of factors to which they should both pay attention.

Keep the conversation light and fun. Controversial topics that are likely to end up in an argument should be kept at a minimum or avoided altogether. These include religion, politics and the like. Women tend to talk more than men do and as such are more likely to dominate the conversation. As much as a person likes to talk, one should be careful not to overdo it during a date because being talkative gives the other individual less time to express themselves thus making the date boring and one-sided. The only way a person may get to know the other is by letting them air their views. It is important that a couple should give each other a chance to speak because it will assist in solving dating problems as well as give one the opportunity too learn more about the other.

It is normal for a couple to try to impress each other during their first days of dating though sometimes it may kill the attraction between them. For the women, keep the make up natural. Too much may be more of a turn off than a turn on. Men have a tendency to try for too much humor, which may come off as obnoxious. Keep everything moderate and success is bound to follow.

Any man who is trying to make a good impression on the lady he has asked out knows not to use common pick up lines on the lady. This will only serve to make her feel cheap. Even though one is physically attracted and interested in a sexual relationship, showing restraint will impress the lady more. Avoid being classified with all the other guys by treating the lady respectfully and being chivalrous. Open doors and pull out her seat ensuring that she is comfortable in all ways. A caring attitude is likely to make her feel more secure and therefore more comfortable and relaxed. One should be sure to complement the lady on her appearance and for taking the time to look good for the date.

On the other hand, ladies need to complement the man on his good appearance and thank him for romantic and chivalrous gestures. Flowers or a box of chocolates should not be taken for granted. A smile will also go a long way. It makes one look attractive while urging their partner to continue speaking. Make eye contact and make him feel appreciated. Laugh at his jokes too. Men may not look it, but they tend to be just as nervous about the date, especially if it is the first. Both party’s should drink just enough. Avoid getting drunk on a date. Drunk dates tend to be more annoying than fun.

Relax and enjoy the date. One should endeavor to be his or her true self on a date. Remember, the person agreed to go on the date in a bid to know you better. Let them.
